This year long course is aimed at both Jews who wish that they'd gotten more of a Jewish education growing up and those who are interested in going through a conversion process with a rabbi. We cover Jewish history, culture, belief, and practice, along with reading Hebrew for Jewish prayer. Over the course of the year students learn about and experience a full cycle of Jewish holidays.
This class was originally designed for Jews who live in places with small Jewish communities, and has supplements outside the class to help those who live in such communities find ways to connect with both local and the wider Jewish world in a meaningful way. Since many small communities do not have a rabbi, assistance is available to help you find a rabbi in a recognized stream of Judaism who is willing to work with conversion candidates remotely.
This is a year long course meeting for 90 minutes once per week, with holiday breaks throughout the year.
